By accessing and using RateMyAccom ("the Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Platform.

2. Eligibility

• You must be a current or former UK university student
• You must have a valid .ac.uk email address for verification
• You must be at least 18 years old
• You must provide accurate and truthful information

3. Account Registration

To post reviews, you must:

• Create an account using your real name
• Verify your university email address (.ac.uk)
• Provide accurate and current information
• Keep your login credentials secure and confidential
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorized account access

You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account.

4. User Conduct

You agree NOT to:

• Post false, misleading, or defamatory reviews
• Submit reviews for accommodations you have not personally experienced
• Accept compensation for posting reviews
• Post reviews on behalf of businesses or third parties
• Use offensive, abusive, or discriminatory language
• Harass, threaten, or intimidate other users
• Share personal information of others without consent
• Spam or post irrelevant content
• Attempt to manipulate ratings or game the system
• Use automated tools or bots
• Violate any applicable laws or regulations

5. Review Guidelines

All reviews must comply with our Review Guidelines. We reserve the right to:

• Remove or edit content that violates our guidelines
• Suspend or terminate accounts that repeatedly violate rules
• Investigate suspicious activity or fraudulent reviews
• Use AI and human moderation to ensure quality

6. Intellectual Property

6.1 Your Content

You retain ownership of content you post (reviews, photos, videos). By posting, you grant RateMyAccom a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to:

• Display your content on the Platform
• Distribute and promote your content
• Use your content for marketing and promotional purposes
• Allow other users to view and interact with your content

6.2 Platform Content

All Platform content, features, and functionality (including design, logos, text, and graphics) are owned by RateMyAccom and protected by copyright and trademark laws.

7. Content Moderation

We use a combination of AI and human moderation to maintain quality:

• Reviews are screened for guideline compliance
• Users can report inappropriate content
• We investigate all reported content
• Decisions are made in good faith but are final

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE PLATFORM IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. We do not guarantee:

• Accuracy or reliability of user-generated content
• Uninterrupted or error-free service
• That defects will be corrected
• That the Platform is free from viruses or harmful components

Reviews represent personal opinions and experiences of individual students. We do not verify or endorse the accuracy of reviews.

9. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, RATEMYACCOM SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE PLATFORM.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold RateMyAccom harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from:

• Your use of the Platform
• Your violation of these Terms
• Your violation of any rights of others
• Content you post on the Platform

11. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account at any time for:

• Violation of these Terms
• Fraudulent or suspicious activity
• Requests from law enforcement
• Extended periods of inactivity

You may delete your account at any time through account settings.

12. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting. Your continued use of the Platform constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of England and Wales.
